California Coast

Well, what can i say about this one.. Hmm. It's not an orca!

A young gray whale takes a dive in his natural habitat, the coastal waters of California.
I tried mixing the blue/green waters that California does have.. hopefully it came out OK.

Anyway, this picture has been in my computer in the sketch phase for months now, i really haven't had the inspiration to do anything with it. Well, I just sat down and started painting it the other day, and I'm REALLY happy to how it came out. Don't get me wrong, this picture was not an easy one to finish. I finished it today after starting it on Friday.. Just the barnacle clusters alone took me a few hours. but hey, i got it done. The Garibaldi fish took me at least 30 minutes.. ( the original one, i cheated though and stamped the other 4.)
So ya, another one of my more realistic paintings.. Enjoy!
